Duke fans will be rooting for payback this week!
We’ve crossed over into February, and the countdown to #MarchMadness has begun! This weekend has some interesting matchups between ranked teams, including a rematch between no. 4 Duke and no. 10 Note Dame. The Fighting Irish upset the Blue Devils a week ago, but this one’s being played at Cameron Indoor, where Duke is really hard to beat. Elsewhere in the ACC, third-ranked Virginia hosts ninth-ranked Louisville. Neither team is explosive offensively, but the Cavaliers boast one of the nation’s toughest defenses and tend to keep things close and pull away late. In fact, this is a historic day for the renowned ACC: this Saturday marks the first time the ACC Conference has ever had two top-ten matchups on the same day! ACC fans have long thought of their conference as the best in the country, and this only furthers their argument. You can bet the Cavaliers will be amped to prove they’re a true 1 seed come tournament time—and you can be the Blue Devils will be in revenge mode on Saturday night!
Elsewhere in the world of bracketology, Georgetown and Villanova resume their Big East rivalry this Saturday afternoon in Philly. In the Big 12, Baylor and West Virginia face off in a battle of two teams that bring toughness but don’t shoot particularly well. And one of this week’s sleeper matchups is an American Conference game between no. 23 SMU and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who are 10-0 in conference! Closing out the Saturday night schedule, no. 1 Kentucky will look to stay undefeated in Florida, against a Gators squad that can be hard to predict but might be a tough out. It looks like a full schedule of exciting games!
