Week 11, dubbed Separation Saturday by fans and pundits, provided plenty of excitement for college football fans! After an upset loss to Florida last week, no. 20 Georgia rebounded by dropping 63 points on Kentucky! Meanwhile, in what looked like a promising martchup, no. 12 Baylor won big in Oklahoma, in a game tainted by a scary injury to Sooners QB Trevor Knight. 22nd-ranked Duke pulled away after an early scare against Syracuse, and Ole Miss—having dropped out of the Top Ten—won 48-0 against Presbyterian.
In the day’s biggest upset, Texas A&M beat third-ranked Auburn, 41-38, thanks in part to the Tigers’ miscues. No. 10 Notre Dame continued its slide, as Arizona State beat them 55-31, and West Virginia had its recent climb interrupted by Texas in a decisive 55-16 win. Trevone Boykin led no. 6 TCU in a 41-20 thumping of no. 7 Kansas State. Meanwhile, 5th-ranked Alabama outlasted no. 16 LSU in a game tinged with controversy.
Week 12 has a couple of marquee matchups, including two SEC showdowns. Top-ranked Mississipi State will face fifth-ranked Alabama, in a game that might cement the top playoff seed. No. 20 Georgia hosts no. 3 Auburn, in a game with big implications for both teams. In an ACC showdown, no. 24 Georgia Tech hosts no. 21 Clemson at high noon.
